Paddling since late 80's, first race was 1997 in a plastic sea lion, then went to a kevlar Necky arluk 1.8, then bought a Findiesen Shearwater, then a Findiesen X, then a Mako Mil. Paddled the Mil for several years, then got the 6. |

Racing Accomplishments

I've won some races and placed 2nd and 3rd in some. When the really fast guys show up I get smoked but I do ok at the local level, especially for an old guy! |
| Other Significant Athletic Accomplishments: |
Done some adventure racing, been on teams that placed in the money. ACA certified as a coastal kayak instructor and surf kayak instructor trainer. Work as an eco-tour guide doing tours at Sandbridge and Back Bay in VA Beach. |
| What you like about surfskis, surfski racing, paddling: |
On race day-Catching bumps, going head to head w/someone who is about my speed, enjoying the awesome comraderie among paddlers.Training-catching bumps, getting and giving tips to fellow paddlers about stroke etc,enjoying the post practice meal and brew w/the boys. |
